Always a great time here. Pheasant hunting is fantastic, beautiful fields, fun guides, great hospitality! Our group of 12 looks forward to returning every year.
I had an amazing trip. Took my son as it was his final week of freedom before reporting to college. It was the slow season, so the lodge didn't have many people. But the place was immaculate. To me, actions speak louder than words. Joel was working his tail off non-stop. Extremely honest and hard working young man. Our guided trip was with Todd. Once again. Hard working, very impressed. Likeable guy who put us directly on the fish. Man people out there not getting anything and we had our limit by 8:30am. Todd put the lures in front of the fish. It was amazing. I highly recommend them.
I cannot wait to go back. The lodge is beautiful, the staff makes you feel at home, the rooms have everything you need and more. The hunts were very well put together, it was an absolute blast. A trip everyone will remember for sure.

Joel, Amanda and staff take a personal interest in making sure your experience is the best it can be. We tried this in lieu of our usual Canadian trip and it may well be a permanent change. Their amenities are exceptional and their "all inclusive" packages are just that. Their guides are seasoned professionals with the best equipment money can buy and the singular mission of making sure you are overwhelmingly successful. If you're looking for a world class vacation look no further.
I’ve stayed with Missouri River Lodge several times. The accommodations and services are some of the best I’ve ever experienced!! Joel and Amanda are salt of the earth people. Look forward to hunting and fishing with them in the future. As the saying goes; You get what you pay for but in this instance it’s above and beyond. Thanks so much for hosting us.
What a truly wonderful trip. Joel and Amanda made us feel at home and the lodge is 5 star all they way. You won't find a better getaway ANYWHERE! We had top notch guides as well. We will be back soon.
Had an excellent stay. Awesome staff. Great meals. Great hunts and fishing with our guide Todd. Joel and Amanda were very accommodating and personable. Would highly recommend this to anyone. Planning a return trip with my boys someday.
I’ve had the opportunity to come here a couple years now. What impresses me most is Joel and Amanda are continuously improving the experience whether it be the hunting, lodging, amenities, etc. Joel, Amanda and their staff are as friendly and accommodating as it gets! I look forward to returning!
Everyone at the South Dakota Outfitters was friendly, helpful and professional. My hunting buddies and I had a wonderful time. We saw hundreds of wild pheasants, ducks and geese all three days we hunted. Amanda and Joel were always smiling and making sure our stay was comfortable. Special thanks to the entire staff especially the Guides and dogs for making each hunt a successful experience. Amanda and Joel along with their entire staff run a first class operation! I highly recommend South Dakota Outfitters.

Beautiful lodge with fantastic accommodations, food, and atmosphere. Amanda and Joel are very accommodating and nice people. The hunting trips were fantastic with many fields to choose from that were groomed for the perfect hunt. Our guide, Todd, was great and the four hunting dogs were wonderful. Perfect place for any outdoor hunting enthusiast.
Just a great time. Facilities, guides, cooks, food, and our hosts, Joel and Amanda were top notch. Todd and Kit made sure we caught fish with plenty to take home. Highly recommend.
What a amazing place to stay, Joel and Amanda with Missouri River Lodge run a very nice gem in the heart of Geddes. We came up for a weekend fishing trip two weekends in a row and bunked here. Amazing all the way through. Great rooms, comfy beds, pool table, bar, tv room, boat parking with plug ins, fridge for your cold goods and access to a nice big fryer and grill. When I’m in the area this is the spot. They also run several guide services and do very well for the clients. Check em out!
I recently visited the lodge as part of a pheasant hunting trip with customers. This place is first rate. We had a great time on our trip, and my customers really enjoyed themselves. The lodge itself was very nice, clean, and comfortable. Meals were provided as part of our package, and the food was very good. Joel & Amanda were awesome hosts and we had a great time. We had 2 different guides (one was Joel himself) and they were both top notch. They put us in places to get opportunities at lots of birds and we had a blast. I would highly recommend you check out this outfit if you are looking for a fun time and a great experience. Next year we are planning on trying to duck/goose hunt also.
If you want to have a great time hunting or fishing this is the place to go. The lodge is very well done and they always have great staff. We usually do more catching then actually fishing. I have had multiple 75 plus fish days and Joel is an incredible guide. If you want to catch fish and have a great time with a very knowledgeable guide this is where you want to go.
I would highly recommend South Dakota Outfitters. The lodge is amazing with all the amenities you would want. The guides worked extremely hard to make sure all of our hunts were a success. Great people.
Above and beyond what I expected. I've hunted and fished with numerous outfitters and this was beyond the most impressive. The accommodations are top notch. Comfortable rooms, outstanding food, and lodge is something everyone needs to see. The guides and properties that SDOU have are some of the finest in South Dakota. We hunted ducks and pheasants for 3 days. We experienced some of the finest hunting to date. I can't say enough about Joel's enthusiasm and passion for the sport. It also comes through from his guides as well. We booked through the Great Outdoor Show in Harrisburg. From the time we booked in February Joel was always available to answer all questions. This is a family owned business with Joel's and Amanda's presence daily at the lodge. The staff that prepared the food and does the housekeeping were pleasant and professional. If anyone is looking for an outfitter for South Dakota hunting and fishing look no further than South Dakota Outfitters Unlimited. We are already planning our spring fishing trip

This is a once in a life time experience!! The pheasant hunting is second to none, and they put you on the fish like no other place I have been to. I have been truly fortunate to have had the experience. The lodging and service is five star.
Joel and Amanda provide a top-tier lodge and outfitting operation in southeast South Dakota. The pheasant hunting and walleye fishing are excellent! We have hunted with them 3 separate years and have always had a super time. Excellent transport to and from the field for hunters and dogs, bird cleaning, packaging and freezing are all included. You will be hard-pressed to find a better lodge anywhere, and I say that from firsthand experience after hunting with a number of outfitters across the country. Comfortable rooms, a lodge full of amenities (see the lodge tour- too many for me to name!) and excellent food- especially the pheasant chili which always seems to be available in addition to whatever is for dinner. If you want a super pheasant hunting experience that will totally spoil you, check them out!
This is the second Year I have hunted pheasant with Joel and Amanda at Missouri River Lodge and it has been outstanding both times. They have great facilities, food, equipment, and hunting grounds. I especially like the fact that each group has its own guide and transportation, so you determine the size of your group.
Once in a lifetime trip! The service, staff, organization was amazing. The hunt was an experience I will never forget. The other customers are now new Friends. This place has something for everyone. Hunt, dine, drink and relax!
Have been going there for several years now and has always been a good time with good food and good fishing. Everyone at the lodge are good people. The accommodations are pretty much top notch. I'm sure you will be pleased with your stay!
Very good trip for pheasant. Got our limit each day. Todd and his dogs were excellent. He was very patient with our shooting skills. The food and lodge were top notch.
Always a fantastic time. The guides, staff, food, and lodge are all top notch. Can't beat the duck and Phesant hunting. I was recently there for a fishing trip. 10 boats went out and we caught 137 fish between all of the boats. All of the guides know what they are doing and you have a blast with the staff. If you haven't been you definitely need to book a trip! You won't regret it! I would highly recommend!
The lodge is well maintained and clean. The food was well prepared and ample. The heated oversized garage was perfect for my dogs. Excellent hunting guides and transportation to the fields. And, more importantly, great bird habitat, feed and tons of Pheasants. In short, we were extremely impressed.
I couldn't have been more pleased and surprised by how great my entire pheasant hunting experience was with South Dakota Outfitters! Joel & Amanda run a fantastic operation, and they pay attention to all details, to ensure I had a fantastic time. The staff, guides, meals, and accommodations were all top notch. Excellent pheasant hunt and stay at the Missouri River lodge. Made our limit on birds every day, hunting in beautiful corn and milo fields. Big shout out to the super friendly lodge staff and guides, especially Todd and his crew of bird dogs. Lodge was clean, comfortable, and a great place to relax at the end of the day. Enjoyed every moment!
I absolutely loved this trip. The hunts were well planned and thought out. Joel was very knowledgeable on the hunts and about pheasants. Amanda does an amazing job at keeping the lodge comfortable and clean. The food was delicious. The staff was personable and polite. 100% recommend to anyone thinking about guided hunts and will definitely be returning in the future.
The Missouri River Lodge is a great place to stay at. The lodging , food and people here are top notch and our fishing guide Todd put us on fish everyday.
Been coming here for 15+ years. Continual improvement - Joel is an AWSOME guide with terrific resources, Pheasants, prarie chickens and walleyes are all world class. My favorite part of the year is visiting Joel an Amanda
Joel does a top notch job putting groups on birds. Been enjoying this lodge for over 10 years. No lodge has beat his hospitality yet for our group. Highly recommend
